Damien gets an origin story, Frankenstein gets a retro ’80s makeover and Mean Girls returns as a musical.
Good morning, readers! Welcome back to this week’s edition of Trailer Tuesday, which can pretty much be summed up as reimagining week, as today’s trailer offering provides a look at some upcoming prequels, reimaginings and remakes.
First up, Nell Tiger Free plays an American woman sent to work at a church in Rome only to uncover a conspiracy to bring about the birth of the Antichrist in The First Omen. Kevin Hart and Gugu Mbatha-Raw lead a heist crew aiming to steal $100 million on a plan mid-flight in director F. Gary Gray’s Lift. Kathryn Newton plays a teenage goth girl who reanimates a corpse from the Victorian era in hopes of building the man of her dreams in Lisa Frankenstein. And lastly, “Get in, loser.” Tina Fey takes us back to North Shore High School for a whole new musical twist on her hit 2004 teen comedy, Mean Girls.
