Final Destination, M3GAN, Sinners & More

Death, killer AI dolls and Prohibition-era vampires wreak havoc.

Greetings, readers! Welcome back for another round of movie trailer goodness in this week’s edition of Trailer Tuesday. This week’s offering delivers seven new trailers for your viewing pleasure, and with five of the seven being horror, it’s looking like the “thrills and chills” genre will be showing up big for 2025. Death returns to claim more lives in the new installment of the Final Destination franchise. Everyone’s favorite killer AI doll M3GAN is back to cause more AI bot shenanigans. And Creed’s Michael B. Jordan squares off against his next opponent – vampires.

So let’s take a look at the upcoming attractions!

In Ash, Riya (Eiza Gonzalez) wakes up on the distant planet of Ash to discover her entire crew has been killed. Enter Brion (Aaron Paul), the man sent to extricate her. Safe and sound, right? Well, as Riya continues inquiring into what actually happened with her crew, she starts to question whether or not she can truly trust the man attempting to rescue her.

Everyone’s favorite killer Rube Goldberg machine is back with the sixth entry in the Final Destination series, Final Destination: Bloodlines. This time, a college student keeps experiencing a recurring nightmare that predicts her family’s death. Wanting to end this multi-generational trauma plaguing her family, she heads back home to track down the one person who can help break this cycle of death.

Bill Skarsgard (It, Barbarian, John Wick: Chapter 4, Nosferatu) and two-time Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins team up with producer Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Darkman, Spider-Man, Drag Me to Hell) in Locked. After Eddie (Bill Skarsgard) breaks into a luxury SUV, he finds himself locked inside a sophisticated and deadly trap set by the vehicle’s owner, William (Anthony Hopkins).

As Elton John once said, “the bitch is back” with M3GAN 2.0. Given that this is just a teaser, we’re given much, if anything at all, in terms of plot details. However, the film’s producers have teased a few details revolving around M3GAN’s technology being stolen by defense contractors to create a military-grade weapon called Amelia. In response, M3GAN creator Gemma (Allison Williams) resurrects an upgraded version of the titular murder bot to fight back against Amelia. The enemy of your enemy is now your friend, and she has one question for you… Miss me?

In Riff Raff, reformed criminal Vincent (Academy Award nominee Ed Harris) has been enjoying his newfound peaceful life with his wife Sandy (Gabrielle Union) and their son DJ (Miles J. Harvey). But that peace is shattered with the arrival of Vincent’s estranged son Rocco (Lewis Pullman) and ex-wife Ruth (Jennifer Coolidge), who reveal they are on the run from his former mob associates, Lonnie (Peter Davidson) and Leftie (Academy Award nominee Bill Murray).

Academy Award nominee John Lithgow and Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush pair up for The Rule of Jenny Pen. After suffering a near-fatal stroke, former judge Stefan Mortensen (Geoffrey Rush) has been left partially paralyzed and confined to a retirement home. It’s there that he runs into Dave Crealy (John Lithgow), a seemingly gentle resident who secretly terrorizes the home with a game involving his dementia doll called “The Rule of Jenny Pen”. Though the games begin as childish torment, as they escalate into something far more sinister, Mortensen will have to take it upon himself to end Crealy’s twisted plans.

Michael B. Jordan reunites with Creed and Black Panther writer/director for Sinners. Wanting to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers Smoke and Stack (Michael B. Jordan) return to their southern hometown for a fresh start. Since this is a horror film, there will, of course, be no fresh start, as a sinister and very blood-thirsty evil awaits them.
